OUR STORY...

Many times people ask us, why Paso Finos? And it always puts a smile on our faces. Tres and I have always loved horses. Tres had already tried different disciplines of horses in the past such as Tennessee walkers, Rodeo Horses, Jumpers, Quarter Horses and he also tried Polo horses but he was unsure of what he wanted. We used to visit different farms in Davie area and lease a horse for one hour and ride but this was getting old very fast.

One day we were driving on I-75 on our way to Louisiana and we drove thru the Ocala area and thought it was a beautiful place, we loved the grand daddy oaks and all the horses in the fields, we fell in love with Ocala and decided to buy some property, we knew this is where we wanted to retire.

We used to routinely visit Ocala and check our property and Tres asked the neighbors where we could go horseback riding, they asked us if we ever rode Paso Finos before and we said, “no”, so we called and made reservation and we went. When we arrived at the farm, we looked in the stalls and I asked “are these horses fully grown”? Hahaha! And she said, “yes”, a few moments later someone rode a white horse into the barn isle and it had a very neat way of going, it was smooth but fast, it was elegant, it was unlike any other horse I have ever seen! We knew then, this is the kind of horse we wanted, the Paso Fino.

Months later, Tres surprised me with my first Paso Fino for Christmas, Don Sobrano was his name and he was a beautiful white pleasure gelding, then we purchased a mare Isabella, then another, we had bought 4 horses within six months and we were still leaving in Fort Lauderdale and we hated it, we hated to be away from our horses because they were being boarded in Ocala and we wanted to be with them. One day we decided to sell everything and move to Ocala including our business and start a new life in the horse capital of the world, it was a risk but we felt compelled that this is destined to be our future, our life was supposed to be with these horses.

Today, Tres and I have an Empire that we have built together. Tres is 4 Times National and World Champion Powerboat Racer with over 20 years of experience holding 77 checkered flags and he was also inducted into the APBA Hall of Champions as well as being awarded twice Throttleman of the year. Tres has always been competitive; he competed for many years in Motocross, Powerboat Racing, BMX and now Paso Fino competition. I personally take care of all daily businesses operations which also include daily overseeing of the farm and I make sure that the horses get their carrots. Haha!
